![]() ![]() Jeff has also served in a range of roles that helped parents, teachers, and students to leverage technology to enrich learning. Over his career he has taught in Denver, Austin, and San Francisco. ![]() He brings with him 14 years of teaching and administrative experience in grades 6 through 12. Jeff came to Live Oak in the fall of 2023 to serve as a long-term substitute teaching eighth grade science. ![]() When not at school, Michelle can be found on the basketball court with her husband and son, a Live Oak fourth grader, or at one of San Francisco’s many independent bookstores. A focus of her teaching is helping students to develop their voices and feel more confident in their self-expression. Michelle majored in Dramatic Writing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and worked in children’s/YA book publishing for a decade. Michelle’s professional development includes Teaching Foundations, Equity as Excellence, Building Better Brains: Academic Success Through Executive Functioning Skills, and The Institute for Social and Emotional Learning. Michelle previously taught high school English at The Harker School in San Jose, and also gained experience in university and early childhood classrooms. She enjoys teaching and learning alongside her seventh grade humanities students because of their readiness to discuss bigger ideas, while keeping it fun. Michelle is excited for her fifth year at Live Oak for the 2023-24 school year. ![]()
